The long wait is almost over and the U20 World Cup is finally here. Interest locally has been mixed, but attendances for the bigger group games and of course the knockout stages should be good. Saturday features 4 games 2 in Group A and 2 in Group B with games taking place at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium and Daejeon World Cup Stadium.

This Tuesday, May 23, 2017 (1:00 AM Pacific) England will play Guinea in the U20 FIFA World Cup at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium in Jeonju, South Korea. Both teams form part of Group A in the competition and will look to continue to add points.

England came into this competition as a possible favorite with a plethora of young talent and really demonstrated that in its first game. The British side defeated Argentina 3-0 with goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Adam Armstrong and Dominic Solanke. England had a lot less possession and fewer attempts than Argentina but was much more clinical in front of net. England’s goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman was also important in the match with five saves in the encounter. The Three Lions are the favorites going into the game and should be able to come away with another three points in the tournament.
